the payment of $220.00. The fee is payable by
 credit or debit card.
The Business Education exam is delivered by computer at
Pearson Vue testing centers. Testing centers are located nationwide, and
appointments are available year round, Monday through Saturday, excluding
holidays. An appointment confirmation is emailed to you after you schedule your
 appointment.
How do I prepare for test day?
On the day of your exam, report to the testing facility 30
minutes before your appointment time. By
arriving early, you give yourself time to find parking, secure your
gear, and complete the pre-test paperwork. Personal items are not allowed, and
you are not permitted any study aides. When you have completed the check-in
procedures, a test center facilitator escorts you to your assigned testing
 station.
At your station, you are given an erasable notepad and an
erasable pen to take notes with. Before your exam begins, you have an
opportunity to take a short familiarization tutorial. The tutorial provides an
opportunity to become familiar with the test delivery method.
When you have completed the exam, and if time remains, check
your work. If you are stuck and do not know the
answer to a question, make an educated guess. You are not penalized for
incorrect responses. At the conclusion of your exam, all materials are
collected, and you are escorted from the testing center.
How is the FTCE Scored?
Each correct answer is assigned one point, the points are
totaled, and this becomes your raw score. Your
raw score is then converted to a scaled score. The scale is based on the
difficulty of the exam and allows for consistency throughout different versions
 of the same examination.
To pass the Business Education 6-12 exam, you must achieve a
scaled score of 200. Your score report indicates pass or fail status and other performance indicators. If you did not pass the exam, your report will include your score and a detailed analysis
of the competencies on the exam.
Scores are reported four
weeks after the test date on Monday after 10:00 p.m. central time. You will receive an email notification when you
report is in your FTCE/FELE account. Your score will
be provided directly to your district/college if you selected this option at
registration. Passing scores are automatically sent to the Department of
 Education’s Bureau of Educator Certification.
How should I Prepare the FTCE Business Education 6-12 exam?
That’s a great question. We’ve broken down the answer into three parts.
- Do yourself a favor and study. Do not walk in unprepared. We have recommended prep materials below, but that only helps if you actually try. Plus, studying is actually proven to be the best antidote to test anxiety.
 - Take care of yourself. Make sure you’re eating well, exercising, and sleeping. All of these things are scientifically linked to brain performance. If you take care of your body, you’ll be helping your grades.
 - Get a study guide or set of flashcards. Some people study better a certain way. Find your study strengths and make the most of them. We’ve tried to make it easy for you by tracking down the best study guide and flashcard set for your exam. Below you’ll see links to both!
